![]() ![]() And I doubt a VIP would really pay well to be in an internal module surrounded by corridors with little that it sucks as cargo ship. ![]() However the Tali will need escort as a drop ship (too slow, easy to hit, glass cannon-not meant to be heavily that it sucks as cargo ship. ![]() A stealth or a long range tracking module would make sense or even a medical (if paired with the drop ship module it might be decent) All the modules that CIG has presented so far make it a sub-par ship relative to other equivalent ships (in my mind the Tali must stay true to its intended purpose- everything else is a waste of $).Ī missile module would be awesome but won't happen because it would throw the ship out of balance (in contrast the Connies will have a missile reloader module). The Tali (in my analysis) has always been a more specialized ship (Long Range Bomber). or a Space Superiority platform and that has always been the Connie. The single Hull concept works better though for a Ship designed to be a Jack-of-all-Trades. I see people still talking about TTK and the high performance of the 300 series relative to the Hornet in AC over on the RSI forums and really want to remind them(for about the thousandth time in the last year) that armor is going to be a BIG balancing factor when it arrives. You're probably right about the survivability of the Retaliator, but we won't know the truth of it or the degree at least until we start to see armor implementation on all ships. Ships that can do so are in rather short supply, less I be omitting a few. But who knows, perhaps I may be doing armored long-range VIP transport. I believe I may have mistaken by purchasing the living quarters, I agree. I mentioned I would use it mainly for exploration and I hold to that due to the simple fact that it can probably hold it's own far more than ships such as the Aquila and Carrack. But I would rather have a constellation if I wanted looks. Many of you forget: the Retaliator is an armored vessel, an ex-military bomber. I wonder when the Connie's modules will be released? I also want holding cells for securely transporting prisoners. I want a Troop Transport module for carrying marines, as well as a docking collar and cutting rig to board enemy ships. I'm eager to see the selection of modules for the Constellation - mostly because I want to get rid of my Phoenix's gaudy "luxury" features and replace them with combat gear. Admittedly, I have bought a few modules for the Tali - as well as a Base Tail - TBH those were impulse buys, because I had $265 in store credit, so why not? If the Connie has a Dropship module, I'll melt the Tali's and buy that instead, because I always intended to use my Connie for bounty hunting and boarding actions. Regardless, my primary interest in the Retaliator has always been its role as a long-range heavy bomber, because there's no other ship that fulfills that role. And I suppose Pirates will think twice about attacking a Tali because of its 5 turrets, whereas a Freelancer is an easy target. Some people are willing to spend $150 for the Base Retaliator and 2 x $25 for the cargo holds, just so they can have a cool looking cargo ship. I think the reasoning is that the Tali looks cool, whereas a cargo hauler, like a Freelancer MAX, is kinda ugly. The Tali's modules aren't surprising - because CIG mentioned 2 years ago that the Tali's bomb bays could be converted to cargo holds or living quarters - but I agree that converting a Heavy Bomber to a cargo ship or passenger transport doesn't make sense. Me, I've got my pure dogfighter(Super Hornet), pure tactical bomber(gladiator), and pure long range fighter/medium bomber(Vanguard).huh, could have sworn I had or at least was thinking of buying a 4th ship. Tend to agree with you, but if people are aiming more toward having a one base hull that they can tweak to fit their needs over a number of specialized ships for single purposes, then more power to them. While the modules are cool and nice for flexibility the Tali still makes for a poor cargo ship (not enough capacity relative to size) and a poor drop ship (too vulnerable and slow + no cutting docking collar = Think that the Redeemer and even Cutlass make for a better assault ships) Tali - suggest keeping the focus of Tali's towards being a heavy Bomber. I personally like the Connie ships better than the Tali and I think they will make better use of Modularity (think the current Tali Modules are a waste of pledge $ and are very poor effectively relative to keeping it a pure bomber or investing in other ships) ![]()
